TEFAF is inextricably bound up with art. Although at first sight less obvious, the same could be said of estate planning and art. To place the latter alliance in the limelight INIEP (the Institute for National and International Estate Planning) in cooperation with EPN (the Dutch Association of Notarial Estate Planners) organised an international conference on 19 March 2003 at the MECCa of art: The European Fine Art Fair in Maastricht. Most contributions of the speakers to the conference together with some other subject related essays, have been compiled in this book to give the reader an insight into the various aspects of the estate planning of art in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. One specific topic, the recovery of stolen art, will be published at a later date in a separate issue as number 5b in this series. «
