Criminology by its very nature as a nondisciplinary field of research andscholarship has always relied on theoretical perspectives derived fromexternal disciplines and bodies of literature for its constant renewal. Theeditors of New Directions for Criminology chose to consult scholars fromoutside the criminological community to demonstrate how the latest theoreticalwork in their field can be made fruitful for criminology.
