The amount ofinformation about wet nurses lactation and breastfeeding can become weightyalthough often intriguing such as the practice of using goats to directly feedfoundling infants to avoid the spread of syphilis. Faith themes are subtlywoven throughout. The reader will need to suspend disbelief to enjoy some ofthe plot twists especially the happilyeverafter ending which provides theredemptive conclusion common to Christian fiction. A bonus is the milkweedpoetry lore and symbolism knitted into the narrative.
