This handbook covers Handels best known public music the Water Musicwritten at the outset of his English career and the Music for the RoyalFireworks the last and largest of his orchestral creations. The genesis ofthese two orchestral suites is examined in its political as well as musicalcontext practical questions of performance style and interpretation arebalanced by an enquiry into Handels compositional processes and therelationship of his other largescale orchestral compositions especially theConcerti due cori to these suites.
