Boek
This was the first book to use all the Aramaic Dead Sea Scrolls to reconstructoriginal Aramaic sources from parts of Marks Gospel. The scrolls enabled theauthor to revolutionize the methodology of such work and to reconstruct wholepassages which he interpreted in their original cultural context. The passagesfrom which sources are reconstructed are Mark 9.1113 2.233.6 10.3545 and14.1226. A detailed discussion of each passage is offered demonstrating thatthese sources are completely accurate accounts from the ministry of Jesus fromearly sabbath disputes to his final Passover. An account of the translationprocess is given showing how problems in Marks text arose from the difficultyof translating some Aramaic expressions into Greek including the notoriouslydifficult son of man. A very early date for these sources is proposedimplying a date of c. 40 CE for Marks Gospel. «
